The northern and southern separation must be in place

Jernbaneverket planned for a separation from north and south in 2017. The municipal master plan for the new double-track Vestfoldbane was adopted in 2017. At that time, a separation from the both north and south via a service track to Kopstad was included. Today`s single track Vestfoldbane was supposed to be an extension track. The separation between north and south was also a premise in the in the promises that the Norwegian Railway Agency made to Horten municipality in connection with the zoning plan for the goods terminal at Kopstad in 2012/2013.
